Today in Social Studies Methods class we discussed the topic Assessment. Assessment is when students use multiple tasks to perform
real-world tasks in order to indicate their knowledge and understanding of
concepts. It includes the collecting of data. Assessment has three different branches that include: Formative, Diagnostic, and Summative.
1. Formative Assessment-
When the student receives feedback in order to improve and
further their knowledge. used throughout the lesson.
2. Diagnostic Assessment-
Allows the teacher to become familiar with any prior
knowledge the student may have.
3. Summative Assessment-
Used
at the end of
the lesson in order to analyze how strong the students understanding of a
lesson is.
