MODEL Maddness

Model = an approach to teaching.
Strategy = a set of steps or procedures included in the lesson.
Method = a way of teaching and implementing information.

1 – Behavioral Model: a way of changing the behavior of the student by teaching skills and approaching knowledge.

2 – Information Processing Model: how the students interpret information, understand, and process knowledge
3 – Social interactive Model: how the students are working with each other, group work, rewards to promote student learning, accomplishing goals and achieving tasks. When the teacher thinks students learn better by interacting, collaborating and exchanging ideas with one another.
4 – Personal Model: individualize learning, working on one’s own, develop self-esteem and identity. Develop talents and use skills.

Direct Instruction Methods: lectures, demonstrations, modeling, controlled by teacher
Information Processing Methods: Students learn by being engaged. They create something, evaluate, and then apply knowledge.
  • Exploring
  • Inquiry
  • Students learn by questions
  • Discussions
  • Case studies (try to solve problems)

Social Interactive Methods: students engage in debates, they interact through role play (jigsaw: a puzzle, as a method every person/student in the group becomes a piece of the puzzle... they are given a piece to solve. If someone is missing the puzzle does not become solved)
